James 'Hollywood' Henderson

I was born in 1968, that year my father was crowned #1 of the nation in the 125 class on a Hodaka. At 3 years old, I started to ride with my family in the desert. I was soon part of the racing world a long side the likes of Ricky Johnson, Scott Burnworth, Bob Hannah and Broc Glover. It was always in my heart to be part of the motorcycle world.

As I got older I decided to start racing in the desert, I did this from 1989 to 1995 and achieved #1 plate in the Superstation series 250 sportsman class on an YZ 250. In 1994 I rode two series and took the #1 plate in the district 38 250 class and the #1 in the Superstation 250 pro class. During this period I entered a team into the world famous Mexican Baja 500 and finished a very happy 2nd place, I competed in multiple GP`s with Baja Promotions where I achieved four 1 place finishes and a wealth of desert experience.

In 2000 I again had the chance to ride out in the Nevada desert up near Las Vegas, but this time history was repeating itself. My new born son now joined me, I put a team of two of my good friends together, riding A KX 500 in the Best in the Desert Series. We did very well in all the races and lead the Vegas to Reno in the Open expert class for 315 miles until a unforeseen mechanical issue. When my oldest son reached 14 he too got the chance to race out in the desert. My oldest son finished 5 points behind the #1 and achieved a #2 plate in his first season. My son and I started racing the Adalonto GP`s with many achievements.

In 2007 I put together a team to compete in the Glen Helen 6 hour event, One of the toughest event on the California calendar. In 2008 I took the 40+ novice win at my home track (Barona) that same year I competed in the Glen Helen 12 hour with my oldest son, which was one of the funniest rides we’ve done together.

My youngest son is now 9 years old and is currently riding a KX85, my oldest son is now into sports photography and is now an accomplished camera man working with motocross-california.com.

My relationship with Ryan Hughes has allowed me to promote our own race at Rynoland in late January alongside my close friend Scott Burnworth. I look forward to meeting all of our new clients in the New Year. You'll have the best motocross holiday money can buy, that’s my guarantee!
